After many, many, many hours of work, we've finally finished Shaman King Zero Chapter 1! I hope that you all enjoy the work we put into it. Plus we've lined it with a ton of extras that came with Jump X (Kai). But of course, we still have Dit's great translations as always paired with Jezzy's great scans. So it all rounds out to be a very nice release. Please be sure to buy all of the Shaman King Zero chapters when they get combined into a single volume later this year (probably late Spring). Buying the Jump Kai volumes is a bit hard outside of Japan, but this should be something to strive for owning in your manga collection!
Sorry for the delay in getting this chapter out. If you hadn't noticed, it's a trend that we often do. Lots of chapters for a while, then burnout and then nothing. Well, the good news is that we are back in the game, and we have lots of releases being worked on. Plus some new things! That's very exciting on my end, and hopefully for you too!
Our goal right now is "weekly" releases. We'll see if we can do it. That's what I'm aiming for. So, that's what we are going to try to do. It might be bi-weekly after a little bit, since doing a 44 page chapter takes twice as long as a 19 page chapter. But a goal to shoot for is good, right? Well, that's all I got for now. Enjoy the release, and look forward to our next one... which will be.... Shaman King Zero Chapter 2! (With all the extra effort we put into all of our releases, of course!)

Hmm mixed feelings...
This chapter, i think, exemplifies two major problems I had with Shaman King.
1. Small details that require you to forget previous established details.
- Shamanism is a dying culture, no wait a business man is willing to pay grandpa to perform what's essentially a publicity stunt for an abandoned train station.
-Yoh is different from (Ren/Faust/Hao/etc.) because he doesn't wallow in self-pity, wait scratch that he's just as hateful anyone. Makes his revelation in GS all the more annoying which leads to...
2. Is there a shaman that is actually happy with its life and doesn't blame the whole of humanity for every misfortune? Three people make fun of you, so everyone must die? I'd hate to see what would have happened without the SF to distract him and Anna from the drama of high school, because yeesh...
Despite my whining I do understand what Takei was going for here, I can never hate on adding layers to the characters. It just takes some getting used to I guess. Plus it was pretty to look at.

this one and the 3rd one are really nice, very touching stories... if only he had included these in the actual series, you know along side the original release. it would have given the series and characters alot more impact.
