Hello, and Happy New Year! It's been a little slow around here. But we are working on some good stuff coming soon. That's both Shaman King Zero chapter 1 and chapter 2! We'll probably release them one right after another. Not quite caught up to the Japanese release (chapter 3 comes out tomorrow), but... we are working towards it. Buy Jump Kai (If you can! It keeps selling out!).
But... you know what would help speed this process along? Some extra staff! So come join the team! Here's the positions we need right now (for Jumbor, Shaman King, and other various things):
- Translator (Japanese to English)
- Raw Cleaner
We provide the raws (all in-house) and have some ready. There is no set number of people we are looking for. Each job will have a test of sorts. You'll be working with the materials that Dit/Jezzy/BadS/andysislands work with, so nothing special. For the translator, you'll get your stuff looked over by Dit. For raw cleaning, you'll get your stuff looked over by me. We want to make sure that M-T's quality remains, and that you have an idea what you are jumping into.
How to apply? Post a comment below saying what job you want to apply for. I'll send you an e-mail, and then you can work from there. Also, I'll try my best to answer any questions as well.

i would help, but my japanese is half a**ed and idk what 'cleaning' is (in terms of manga).
btw the comment thing is still bugged, you need to double post to get it through, is it possible to fix it b/c it gets really annoying especially if you type heaps and forget to ctrl+c prior to submitting (in case of failure to process).

Hi I'm new here and only just got back into Shaman King recently because of the zero stories. ^^ I wouldn't mind translating some stuff. It especially saddens me to see how behind the english fandom is. I'd love to help out! Problem is I'm not sure how much time I can commit though ...
I can't wait for Anna's 0 story tomorrow though! I'm going to rush out and buy it. I've been buying them religiously and almost cried when I couldn't find the first one cause they sold out so fast!

I would like to apply as a translator. I cant just look at scans and translate them mentally but im pretty good with finding kanji and I know basic vocabulary along with kata and hira. Ive already translated Ren's interview with Thalim in the mentalite (which took me like 14 hours. D:) and some of Jeanne's interview with Marco and Bron if u would like me to send them to u message me on my facebook cuz im a dork and I still use my gmas email. Couple notes...
- I didn't get to making the "raw cleaning" test yet (removing the Japanese text... making it look all nice).
- We are looking for "experienced" people. That doesn't mean that you needed to work on something before with another group, but more that I/BadS/Dit don't have time to train you from the ground up (sorry!)
- I think I know at least one part of why the commenting is broken. Now to work with Kami to find the fix.

I won't apply for translator because my japanese is at toddler level (I am an experienced translator but for portuguese-english so yeah, doesn't help).
I have question- is Mentalite the same as SK Remix? Or have you still not started the Mentalite project?

No, they're not the same. Mentalité is a fanbook/character book with extras, character bios, interviews and all that stuff. That's one of our projects as well, but since it has sooo many text and sooo many pages and Takei is releasing sooo many things every month we're not really working on it right now (but will!)
Also, for those who want to apply as translators, I need to tell you that you're more than welcome, but bear in mind that you need a high level of Japanese in order to do it right!
I've been studying it for almost 7 years and despite that every now and then I'm still like "WTF does this line mean?! D:"

I've taken Japanese for three years at my university. For most things aside from slight changes in Dit's translations, it's just not enough.
Its just basic words and sentence structure. Prolly the hardest thing for me is finding kanji bcuz I look at the scans and try to identify them by radicals on Jisho. I translate as a hobby so I dont really know other methods or work for others. But I'll try to see if my gma will let me send you the scans along with the translations Ive done this weekend for you to check my accuracy.

Hello, I'm Japanese and fluent in both English and Japanese.
If you are still looking for a translator, I would love to help. I read most of the major current series in both English and raw, and notice a lot of mistakes in cultural references, jokes, etc; things that you have to be Japanese to really understand, which I am.
I have one previous work (Nokizaru ch1 translation reviser:yttcan) if that means anything.

Shaman King Zero chapter 1 needs to be released first, then comes chapter 2. We do things in order.
Butsu Zone "KZB" isn't a thing. There was a reprint, but it's just smaller and on sort of nicer paper. We will get around to doing Butsu Zone right. And by "right" I mean we will be using the original WSJ raws for a portion of it, and using other sources (such as the reprint), where changes were made. And of course, all coming from the original Japanese version (NOT the french version). So things like color pages will be there (which aren't in the reprint volumes). So better on all levels. But we want to work through other things first. So it's much lower on our list until we get more raw cleaning staff. We are going to do it once, and we are going to do it right.
Alright sorry to be the one to ask but im sure everyone had been wanting too and I figured id be the only to play the bad guy there

Nope, we got 3 more to go!
But we are stuck waiting on the raw for chapter 14. So that should finally arive at some point (SAL is slow).
We'll try to release those last three quickly once we get all the pieces in place.
Also, I'm still working on Shaman King Zero Chapter 1. Sorry for the delay. Chapter 2 should also follow quickly behind that.
Plus there is more stuff coming after that too... Once the floodgates open... they will open with some great stuff.
