Also, a question! Would you people be interested in seeing a Mankin-Trad Blog for the staff? It would be a bit more focused towards chapter impressions, predictions, and rants in general (so, not news-based, since SKN has that covered). Post in the comments if you think it's not a waste of our time and you'd read it.

good stuff, look forward to the new SK one shot, just hope its its random bits of 'comedy' and is a somewhat serious entry to the series.
i hope the new anime series is either ultimo or SK... only done better then the last PoS they threw out at us. maybe this time they can include the KZB and he might even get a chance to properly balance the ending instead of rushing it (i know some anime shows do this to further explain situations or to flesh out battles etc (like in one piece)).
if they do go through with a SK anime remake, it should be catered for older teens, and not towards young arrogant white kids (again like they did with one piece).
I do hope it's a new anime!!! and more than that I hope it is based in the KZB that it (if it's in fact a new anime) most probably will be since the KZB is the complete version xD

I'm not sure how I feel that "Shaman King Zero" has Matamune as a character.... Yay, since he's there. But Nay since that really doesn't meet well with the timeline.
(Unless it's Matamune and Anna talking... then that could work out I guess in some fashion)
(Yes, "SKZ" is the official name. I'm glad there is a website like SKN with Dit's help to keep this updated so quickly!)
I am also confused on how Matamune is added to SKZ, maybe he will appear from a far and watches Yoh? And I am so glad that Anna is there which means there could possibly be a Yoh and Anna scene!

Yeah, it doesn't make sense at first...
But I was thinking... maybe Anna and Matamune are there only because there's a short "Revoir flashback" kind of thing included in the oneshot. That'd also explain why the poster is Revoir-focused.
I mean, if I remember correctly Yoh wanted to become stronger to bring Matamune back to life, and he moved to Tokyo because he wanted to find a strong spirit who would make him a better shaman.
So maybe that's the connection?
Anyway, we'll have to wait until it comes out!! Agh!

I do think I remember Andy telling me that it brought Mankin's popularity back up/saved it from cancellation when it first came out. Could be mis-remembering. If that's the case, it makes sense he'd try to use it to drum up interest again.

It depends on how you look and ask the question.
If you ask various manga-ka that have published in Shueisha, then he is well liked and known.
If you ask someone who follows alot of manga from Shueisha, he's known, and often more popular than not.
If you ask someone who doesn't follow alot of manga, they probably don't know his name.
If you ask your average Japanese person, they won't have a clue who you are talking about.
Like most manga-ka, it's not themselves that are popular, but the works they produce. "Shaman King" is often held in high regard, even though it's considered an "older series" now. "Ultimo" isn't doing so hot, but it's still going. "Jumbor" is doing above expectations, but nothing mind-blowing. Current Shaman King sales have been above expectations since the KZB releases. Prior to KZB releases they were on the decline. Within the last few days, Shaman King or "Mankin" did have a large spike in popularity.
it's good to know Shaman King is doing fine! and to know its popularity is doing better now is an excellent new!

Hey! Yeah I went to SKN. I read most of it and I know its a project Takei said he will be doing in the months to come and next year. I just wondered if anyone could tell me more about it. No need to use that smiley.
I was a SK fan when I was 13. When I heard that Takei stopped the mangas, I stopped reading and only watched the anime. Now Im 19 and I've thought of SK a lot over the years cos I really loved it. So I started reading it again and read the KZB version and and the SK files and remixes etc. I loved them all! Thanks a lot mankin trad for all of them! I started squeeing when I found this site. Now Im crazy about it again and Ive missed it so much. Thats why I dont really know everything and asked..

You can't read it because there isn't any. We've been working on other things and Mentalite isn't in the mix at the moment.

The only Mentalite release so far has been "Snakes Legs." However, someone goofed up when we upgraded the website a while back and it was mislabeled. I'lll put it under the correct location when the next Remix Track is released.

The next release will be Remix Track 10. I said it was going to be released this week. That includes this weekend, in my opinion. So, sometime in there. Also, there will be a M-T Blog poll during that time. So, any suggestions or thoughts about that idea, please be sure to post now or then. (if you post now, it could be included in the poll)

It's the next "normal-size" project after Jumbor Chapter 5, "Mystery Project #2", and probably "Shaman King Zero" Chapter 1.
So... it's a little down the way, but I haven't forgotten about it!
