Need More Staff

Hello, and Happy New Year! It's been a little slow around here. But we are working on some good stuff coming soon. That's both Shaman King Zero chapter 1 and chapter 2! We'll probably release them one right after another. Not quite caught up to the Japanese release (chapter 3 comes out tomorrow), but... we are working towards it. Buy Jump Kai (If you can! It keeps selling out!).

But... you know what would help speed this process along? Some extra staff! So come join the team! Here's the positions we need right now (for Jumbor, Shaman King, and other various things):

- Translator (Japanese to English)

- Raw Cleaner

We provide the raws (all in-house) and have some ready. There is no set number of people we are looking for. Each job will have a test of sorts. You'll be working with the materials that Dit/Jezzy/BadS/andysislands work with, so nothing special. For the translator, you'll get your stuff looked over by Dit. For raw cleaning, you'll get your stuff looked over by me. We want to make sure that M-T's quality remains, and that you have an idea what you are jumping into.

How to apply? Post a comment below saying what job you want to apply for. I'll send you an e-mail, and then you can work from there. Also, I'll try my best to answer any questions as well.

Sorry for the delay, but here is Shaman King Remix Track 13! This one is based around Yoh & Hao. Or maybe not at all/ Oh well. Something is better than nothing!

You want some more Shaman King news/stuff!? Good news! There is a new place to check all of that out. It's called the Patch Cafe! I'll be posting up my thoughts on this chapter over there soon. Plus there has been alot of new posts. That's 24 posts in just 10 short days! Plus online polls and a bunch of fun stuff with alot more to come.

And yes, we are working on Shaman King Zero right now. And we will be doing Shaman King Flowers when it comes out (unless one or both gets licensed in English)

Sorry for the delay, but here is Shaman King Remix Track 12! This one is based around Horohoro (sort of). I found it kinda boring. Oh well. Something is better than nothing!

You want some more Shaman King news/stuff!? Good news! There is a new place to check all of that out. It's called the Patch Cafe! It's basically the Mankin-Trad Blog, but it's going to be doing it's own thing. There are already a bunch of posts over there and it's being updated very quickly. So if you need more of a daily Shaman King fix, be sure to check that out!

Oooooooohhhh~! We are back from the grave----! Happy Halloween everyone! In celebration, I've made a very special Shaman King themed Halloween poster for you! Just click that image in this post. If you dare! It's truely scary.

But, can't make a news post without some updates, huh? Well, let's have a couple firm ones.

1. Shaman King Remix Track 12 will be out this weekend. I would like to say this is going back weekly... but with Shaman King Zero coming... that's going to take the top spot on our list.

2. The "Mankin-Trad Blog" will be opening up this Friday, we want it a couple days in advance of Shaman King Zero.

And I got some more things about the "M-T Blog" to say too. First of all, there will be spoiler posts. They will be marked, so you can just skip over them if you want. But that's the place to get spoilers well in advance of M-T scanlations. As such, you shouldn't post any spoilers for non-M-T released stuff here. We'll get to it when we do. I'll have the spoiler topics up in advance, and the old topics will also act as prediction topics. Simple right?

A sneak preview about one of the "launch window" posts I've got a couple things to say about that Halloween Poster. Fun factoids and such. Expect a bunch of posts like that in the future.

November is going to be a busy month, but alot of exciting things are coming very soon. So be sure to check out the "Mankin-Trad Blog" this Friday!

Shaman King Remix Track 11

And here's Remix Track 11! See, back on a faster track again. Awesome ain't it? And it's a Butsu Zone chapter. Sort of, kinda. Anyways it's as close as we will get for a while. I have a bunch I want to say about this Remix Track... But! I'll save it for an upcoming blog post on our new Mankin-Trad blog! Coming soon! Also, since nobody said anything... I updated Remix Track 10 with that page I forgot to upload. Oops. Enjoy until the next chapter! (and hopefully enjoy that one too!)

Remix 10 And Some Questions

After a couple delays, here is Shaman King Remix Track 10! You can find it just over on the left hand menu. Enjoy! Remix Track 11 is already underway!

Until then, here's a small questionaire, sort of. Please post the comments below. All of these are asking about the future "M-T Blog." It's a blog that will be staffed by the current Mankin-Trad staff. But we have some questions on what you would like to see.

The goal of the blog is aiming towards a "Community Blog." Since Shaman King is returning shortly, this seems like a good way to get it started. The idea of forums were a good way to form a community around an anime/manga series. However, in the last 4 years, forums have not become very popular. So, we are going to try this little experiment. It's not going to impact Mankin-Trad releases at all. In fact, it very well could expand upon them. I know what the Shaman King community was "back in the day" so this blog will hopefully be a starting point to rebuild that, by starting from "zero."

So, please answer the questions in the comments below. I'll be checking answers until the M-T Blog goes live. And feel free to post your own suggestions on what you would like as well!

1. Do you want to have your own accounts to post? Would you like anon posting as well?

2. Would you like to see our thoughts on recent M-T releases (like a commentary version)?

3. Would you like to see previews of M-T releases before they are released? (like first impressions, sampling of scans, .etc)

4. What current running Takei series would you like to see impressions/thoughts focused on? Shaman King, Jumbor, Ultimo, all of them?

5. Would you like to see our impressions/thoughts on non-Takei manga/anime?

6. Would you like to see special extras we produce based on M-T releases? Such as wallpapers, avatars/icons, cleanned images, clean versions of funny/random credits pages.

7. Would you like to see weekly polls? (Etc: Which is your favorite Jumbor?)

8. Would you be interested in longer blog posts from time to time that cover alot of information? Like an article that is focused on older, lesser known Shaman King history. These are things that you can't just normally find in a wiki page or something.

9. Would you like to see "Top 10" lists or some type of ranking of various things? (Top 10 best SK fight scenes, for example)

10. Would you like to see "alternative" chapters? Similar to our parody chapters. Where we add our own text to bubbles to make them (hopefully) more humorous.

More Shaman King in November!

Just in case you haven't read the news....

Go read it now on how there is a full, 44 page oneshot of Shaman King being released in November 2011!

Plus a chance for a new anime is the Spring? Sounds good to me.

And yes, unless it gets announced for an English release... we'll be releasing it as well. We are going to fast-track it.

In other news, Shaman King Remix Tracks 10 and 11 will be posted next week.

Also, a question! Would you people be interested in seeing a Mankin-Trad Blog for the staff? It would be a bit more focused towards chapter impressions, predictions, and rants in general (so, not news-based, since SKN has that covered). Post in the comments if you think it's not a waste of our time and you'd read it.

SK Remix Track 9

And here's the next Shaman King Remix Track! It's number 9. Getting close to double digits. I would like to say that we are going to be on a normal release schedule for Remix Tracks from now on. But that's probably not going to happen. Why? Since, we are kinda catching up. All the tracks are in translation that we have scans for. And it can take up to 4 weeks for us to get scans. So the short answer is... more tracks are coming soon! And probably before next weekend too!

But when Remix Tracks slow down... that's still good! Since it gives us time to work on other things as well. See 2 news posts below for what those things are.

And if you haven't read the Pafu interview, go down one news post and read it. It's really awesome!

Takei's interview in Pafu

It's not every day there is a huge interview with a manga creator. With the releases of Shaman King KZB extras of "Last Words" we do get a little insight into the mind of Hiroyuki Takei. However, this interview goes well above and beyond. Jumbor, Ultimo, Shaman King, and a little bit about Jyuki Ningen Jumbor are all discussed. Plus you get a behind the scenes look at Hiroyuki Takei's office! On a slight side note, this is his second office, which he moved into towards the end of the original Shaman King release in Weekly Shonen Jump.

There are two versions released for this release. There is the online reading, and there is the .pdf download. I highly recommend downloading the .pdf verision. It's scaleable, you can select the text, and it's much, much larger. But the online reading version is there just in case you want to read it there. (I say download it anyways though, since it may load directly into your browser if you just click "open")

Alot of people need some HUGE thanks for this release. It's really everyone on the team, but here's there "Go you, you rock!" shout outs!

andysislands - (It's me, so I just did everything I normally do..., so I won't toot my own horn)

BadS - He took the time to re-create the entire Pafu interview from the ground up in inDesign. That is super awesome! And must have taken forever. This is a bit of his "swan song" for Mankin-Trad for now (though it's been done for a while). But a huge thanks goes to him for making this release as awesome as it is. a .pdf version wouldn't have happened without him! Mega thanks!

Dit - The single largest undertaking for a single release, ever. And probably ever again. You know this release comes out to 8,189 words, right? That's huge. This interview covered everything, and she was able to make it all happen for us. Super thanks!

Jezzy - And for all those words, we also have Jezzy to proofread through it all and ensure that quality remains at the highest level. Awesome thanks!

So, enjoy this release! I'm sure it's something that will be talked about and referenced for years to come. And thank you again to everyone on this project team. Great work!

Remix 8 and Status of Projects!

With a little delay, here is Remix Track 8! Enjoy it! And as the side text says... it's not completely true! But we also included a new extra page. It's the preview for Remix Track 9. This page can be found just before each Remix Track in the Remix volumes. We didn't include it before because it wasn't in the previous 7 volumes. And it includes a very small sketch preview of the next chapter! So enjoy that little nugget!

Now onto status of all our projects!

Shaman King Remix Track 9: This currently doesn't have a release plan. As well as the next few. Simple reasoning. Jezzy hasn't scanned them yet and Dit doesn't have an internet connection. So once Dit comes back, things will continue again. Until then, it's a small hiatus. Also, like always, we will continue, so please don't post links to pictures of future remix tracks. We like high quality images, and we will provide them in short time. If you want to see it, then import the volumes for yourself! Also, I hear that on Shaman King Nation next week there is going to be a really awesome guide that will contain a bunch of info...

Jumbor Chapter 5: Translation is done, but it's still in raw cleaning. Ultra Jump chapters are a bit larger and longer (and larger!). So, it takes time. But it will be released. Not sure when. Depends on how things go. See end of news post on more info on how you can help out on future Jumbor chapters!

Shaman King TCG comics: We still got a few translations kicking around. As such, starting next weekend (not the one in a few days, aim for more of Sept 10th) these will make a short return! I don't remember how many I have backed up. At least 1 if I recall. So that's happening.

Pafu: It's still coming. Cleaning Remix Track 8 took longer than I wanted. So.. it's pushed back another week. It's in final QC. But I'm gone for the weekend, so that's why it's next week.

Shaman King KZB Extras: Yes, we are still doing them. But Dit's without internet, so no progress there.

Mentalite: Translations for some pages are done. But this is still in it's planning phrases. Like trying to figure out how we are going to release it. Then typesetting and all that fun stuff. So it's a little ways off. Remix Tracks will probably restart before this first release happens. But it's coming down the line still.

Mystery Project #1: We have raws. But since it's so low on Dit's translation list, we aren't worrying about it yet. Though if you know Japanese and want to help translate it, contact andysislands via the contact form.

Mystery Project #2: We will have raws soon. But Dit's away, so, this hasn't started. But it's going to be higher up on the list than you would expect.

So, how can you help with Jumbor you ask!? Well, we need two things. Translations and help cleaning the raws. But you need to have experience. In the past we took in some people with less experience. But, I'm busy with a bunch of projects, so I can't help too much with training. So if you are interested, send andysislands a message via the contact form. Include some experience that you have done. Like sample translations or pages you've cleanned before. There isn't really a test, but I will send you a page or two and that's the un-official test. Since your style should match with what we currently have going. It's weird when one chapter/page is completely different than the rest. I'll be gone this weekend, so if you e-mail me, expect a responce mid-next week. And pass this message along to anyone who you think could be of help. Thanks!
